Thank you Getaway/Fujifilm South Africa and all the other sponsors for supporting wildlife photography and this wonderful opportunity. Congratulations to all the various winners and runner ups, a great deal of inspirational photos to marvel at!

Great images and congrats to all.
Why aren’t the images ordered by winners instead of alphabetically?
Also why is “Getaway Wildlife photographer of the Year (overall best image)” mixed in with this article which is actually “2011 Fujifilm Getaway Wildlife Photography Awards”, they are totally separate things.
The category ordering of the awards list is also not correct.

Hi JP,
You are mistaken with the comment about the ‘mixing’ of competition results. Getaway overall winner is exactly what it says – the overall winner of this Getaway/Fujifulm competition.
As for how things are structured, you may have a point if you are saying the organisation could have been better, can’t everything always be better? That said, there are no rules, you say potato… know what I mean?
Thanks for the feedback, all forms of it are always welcome.

How do I get my paws on these photographs? Do you bring out a book with all these images? And if so, when will it come out?
December 9, 2011 at 12:45 pm
Wow, thanks for sharing these great images from the competition.
There are so many exceptional shots in the collection every year and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to pick just a favourite photographer or photo from the bunch.
Kudos to everyone involved in showcasing this talent and for another great exhibition this year. Well done!
